Candlelight Christmas Tours
A 1950's Christmas at Malabar Farm
Visitors have the chance to celebrate the beauty of the holidays during the annual Candlelight Christmas Tours at Malabar. This special four-day holiday event and self-guided tours will be held Thursday through Saturday, December 11th,12th & 13th, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Holiday decorations will feature greenery, candles, bubble lights, and many other things common to the 1940's. Six trees will be decorated with a special theme by volunteer organizations. The Big House will be decorated for the holiday season beginning November 28th through December 31st. The Gift Shop will be open 11am-5pm Tuesday through Saturday and Sundays 12noon -5pm, closed Mondays and Holidays. Our new Malabar Farm / Lehman's Country Store will be open for holiday shopping featuring unique Ohio made products, Lehman's products , Malabar Farm all natural beef and pork and fresh made fudge.
The four-day special Candlelight Christmas celebration will feature live caroling, freshly baked cookies, hot wassail , Santa's Workshop with a visit with Santa Claus. Live entertainment and music is provided for your SELF-GUIDED tour Admission is $5.00 for adults, $4.50 seniors and $3.00 for children age 6-17 for a self-guided candlelight tour of the Big House. Reservations are recommended for groups of 15 or more and may be made by calling the park office at 419-892-2784.
The Mansfield/Richland County Public Library will sponsor a reading for children of The Night Before Christmas by the cozy fireplace in the rustic Pugh Cabin on Thursday and Friday evenings at 6:00pm . A visit from Santa Claus and fresh baked cookies for the children.
